Now in its eleventh year, on May 5, 2024 Wings for Life World Run participants in United States can also run together in Cleveland. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 7:00:00 AM. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

Track

Welcome to the Official CLE App Run!

Timing and race number

You will receive your personal race number via email and it’s also available next to your starting number on the website a couple of days before the race. The Wings for Life World Run App is your time tracking tool. Your contribution to help find a cure

Hell on Hogsback

Description

Saturday, August 26th from 7:00a - 7:00p

Hell on Hogsback: Endurance Challenge in Cleveland, Ohio is a physical and mental test geared towards those looking to give back in a BIG way on one of the most infamous hills the area has to offer.  The race is located in the Rocky River Reservation at the top of Stinchcomb Memorial Hill. The objective is simple: how many times can you complete the out & back hill course within the allotted time?

Course

Hell on Hogsback is a 0.75 mile out & back (or what some might say...down & up) course with 122ft elevation gain & 122ft elevation descent at an average 12% grade per lap.  Starting at the top of Stinchcomb Memorial Hill, runners will head down to the bottom of the hill, take a sharp right, and continue their way down to the bottom of Hogsback Lane.  At the bottom of Hogsback, runners will loop around a cone and reverse their footsteps back up Hogsback & to the top of Stinchcomb. Runners will complete their lap by completing a loop through the parking lot where runner's aid stations, tents, and vendors will be.

There will be three different endurance challenges available:

  1. Solo - 12 Hour Endurance Challenge (Starting @ 7:00a)

  2. Solo - 1 Hour Endurance Challenge (Starting @ 7:00a)

  3. Two Person Teams - 12 Hour Endurance Challenge (Starting @ 7:00a)

Our Mission

Our internal ethos is #EndureForCancer.

After the race, the race committee will select a candidate & hand-deliver a check consisting of 100% of the race proceeds to the person in need.

Make Your Miles Count Even More!
One way to share the work of our agency and mission is to become a charity team fundraiser! Below are simple ways to fundraise for this event:

1. Sign up for the race and to become a fundraiser or start a fundraising team during registration: Reach out to your friends, family, colleagues, and local businesses to donate to help reach your team’s over-all goal which helps to raise epilepsy awareness!

2.Set your goal: We suggest $500 for individuals and $2,000 for teams.
Those who raise $250+ become an official charity team member and earn a special charity team member t-shirt.
Those who raise $500+ get the charity team t-shirt and their race entry re-funded back to them.

2. Fund-Your-Run: Get sponsored for your run! Ask friends, family, and co-workers to sponsor you per mile. This is an easy way to get others involved and to quickly reach your personal fundraising goal.

All proceeds from the race will go directly to our agency’s local programs and services which assist those affected by epilepsy in Northeast Ohio. To read about the agency programs and services click here.
